The Striders Christmas Dinner - The Plough, Stathern

On Friday 6th Dec, Stilton Striders held their annual presentation evening, with Dominic Musgrave of the Melton Times attending to present the trophies. The awards were given as follows: Most Improved Runner - Chris Southam, Best Veteran - Phil Douglas, Clubman of the Year - Chris Genes, with Nick Brown taking the honours for the 'Best Runner 2002'. In addition to the four club members who are in April's London Marathon through producing qualifying times (Tim Legge, Tim Hicks, Phil Douglas and Cis Robinson ) the club awarded their allocated two entries to Chris Southam and Vicki Lowe. In addition a special 'Lifetime achievement to athletics and Stilton Striders' was presented to Ron Grove, with a bouquet of flowers for his wife, Judy.
